Save the file as tf_english or whatever language you opened in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\resource. What you want to change is the "Scattergun" label to the right to "Lever Rifle" or whatever you want to change it to.** DO NOT CHANGE THE LABEL ON THE LEFT THAT SAYS TF\_. It says "TF\_Weapon\_Scattergun" and "Scattergun". I would type "Scattergun" without quotations into the find box and hit enter. Say I wanted to change the scattergun's name to lever rifle. This has to be exactly correct, no mistakes or notepad will not find the item for you. Go to edit > find and type the name of the item you want to change the name of. Open resource > tf_english.txt or whatever language you play tf2 in.
